Adopt A Roadway Litter Removal and Picnic

Common Ground, an·them, and Parkside is invited to engage our community for the first Adopt A Roadway Litter Removal event on Saturday, July 27 from 10:00 - 11:30 am. The adopted area is SW Erickson Avenue between SW Allen and SW Farmington. In addition, there will be a few church campus projects to help with. Arrive at Parkside by 9:45 am for a time of prayer and instructions. We have Volunteer Tshirts for participants to wear.

Bring the following:
- rakes, hoes or other yard tools to remove grass and weeds along sidewalks
- push brooms and dust pans
- work gloves
- bottled water and hats (it could be a hot day)

There will be a church picnic at Evelyn Schiffler Park Shelter A following the workday from 11:30 am - 2:00 pm. Even if you do not participate in the workday, come and have some fellowship with us. The picnic is a BRING YOUR OWN FOOD event. Each family should bring:
* meat for BBQ/or prepared main dish for their own family (and a little extra to share)
* Beverages
* Salad or side dish /dessert for the potluck
* Plates, cups and utensils
* bags of ice

Hillsboro Hops Game on July 29

If you are interested in joining the Scholls Ferry LC group on their outing to a Hillsboro Hops game on July 29 please let Steph Davies know as soon as possible. She is working on getting tickets for the group and in order to ensure everyone is able to sit together she needs to know if you're going by July 16th. You can reach her at softballkid4@yahoo.com.

Game is a Monday evening, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. Tickets are $17 each unless we can get a group of 25 or more people, then everyone gets a one dollar discount. Parking is an extra $5.

Adopt A Roadway Event on July 27

Common Ground is teaming up with our campus neighbors an·them church and Parkside Fellowship for a community service project

On July 27 we'll be cleaning up Erickson Avenue as part of Beaverton's Adopt-A-Roadway program. This is a great opportunity to fellowship with our faith neighbors and get some exercise.  It is also a great example of the D.R.E.A.M. initiative--Engaging Our Community. 

We'll follow that with a church picnic at the park next door.  BECAUSE we'll be having this picnic, there will not be a Church Potluck on the first Sunday of July
