Scholls Ferry Life Community | Book Drive

The Scholls Ferry Life Community has partnered with Greenway Elementary School to support their children and families with free books. Greenway is a Title I school, located off Scholls Ferry and 125th. We are launching a book drive this Sunday, November 8, and collecting through December 6. New and gently used books from preschool - 5th grade level would be greatly appreciated! Suggested books include English and Spanish board books, picture and story books, chapter books, non-fiction, and biographies. Please, no religious or textbooks. Contact us at 971.205.2427 with questions.

Barnfest 2015

Join us Sunday, October 4th, from 2-6pm, as we get together at the Robnett farm in North Plains for good food, games, horse rides, friends and family, worship, and message! This is a great event for inviting friends and family to join us as we hang out together.

Now, here is all the good info:

First off, please note there will be no service at Kaleo on October 4th.

Second, we're doing a chili potluck, and we are looking for 12 individuals or families to sign-up to bring a large pot of chili! (Please call us at 971.205.2427 if you'd like to sign-up). We'll also need some good sides and desserts, so:

If your last name begins with A-M, please bring a side
If your last name begins with N-Z, please bring dessert

Next, our schedule for the afternoon:

2pm. Horse Rides
3pm. Games
4pm. Chili Potluck
5pm. Music & Devotional Message
6pm. End

Here are some things you'll want/need to bring:

- Chairs or a large blanket to sit on for eating and the message
- It can get a bit cold in the late afternoon and evening, so dress accordingly
- And again, if your last name begins with A-M, please bring a side; if your last name begins with N-Z, please bring dessert!

All this good fun and food will be at the Robnett Farm. The address is:

28060 NW Truitt Road, North Plains, OR.

Finally, if you have any questions or need more info, email us at sayhellotocommonground@gmail.com, or call us at 971.205.2427.

Looking forward to see you all at Barnfest next week! God be with you all. Peace.

The Misfits: Fall Sermon Series

We’re a country of labels. Doctor, president, hero, all star, beautiful…labels most would love to claim as their own. It’s easy to tag and categorize people, but labels can stigmatize, too. Geek, weirdo, stupid, alien. Consciously or subconsciously, people will put distance between themselves and those they feel don’t quite fit. The misfits on the edge of society. On the edge of the Christian church? Join us for a new sermon series, The Misfits, that starts September 13. Discover how the ordinary, the ostracized, the unexpected who encounter God can change their lives. And change lives!

In God’s house we’re all misfits. In God’s house, we all fit!
